Royal Pains - Season 1
The series revolves around Mark Feuerstein as a young doctor who, after being wrongly blamed for an important patient's death, moves to The Hamptons and becomes a reluctant concierge doctor to the rich and famous. As time goes on, Hank and those close to him face pivotal life decisions, which could take Hank away from the Hamptons.

Most USA shows are a little cheesy on the surface, but this one is also filled with cheese, the kind of cheese that frat boys eat late at night when they're drunk.June 04, 2009
Simply being quirky, however, only goes so far, so my preliminary diagnosis is that these Pains don't amount to much more than a second-degree Burn.June 04, 2009
The one-liners are broad, the plots preposterous. And yet it all works in a lighthearted-summer-fare kind of way, helped along with almost pornographic images of Hamptons wealth.June 04, 2009
It's Gossip Girl as a medical procedural, which may not be a recipe for quality, but I'm a weak woman, and it works for me on a hot day.June 04, 2009
It's not a bad summer diversion.June 04, 2009
Though the show apes Burn Notice's beachside vibe, the new program is too predictable to make much of an impression.June 04, 2009
An amusing, enjoyable addition to basic cable.June 04, 2009
It seems safer to bet on the second and to remain grateful for the House reruns that are shown more or less continually on USA.June 04, 2009
Instead of having goofy fun with all its eye candy, Royal Pains mostly wants to sit around drinking in the excesses of the uber-wealthy, with an occasional joke as an afterthought.June 04, 2009
No one's ever going to say Royal Pains is a classic addition to the medical genre, but it certainly is zippy fun.
